The Feed Hygiene Regulation (183/2005)

The Feed Hygiene Regulation (183/2005) is enforced in Scotland under The Feed (Hygiene and Enforcement) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 which came into effect in January 2006.

The Regulations apply to businesses that make, use or market animal feeds. This includes most livestock farms, arable farms that grow, use or sell crops for feed use, and also fish farms.

The Regulations replace the Feeding Stuffs (Establishments and Intermediaries) Regulations 1999, which applied to farmers who mixed feeds containing additives.

The Food Standards Agency can provide further guidance to farmers on how to comply with these conditions.
