South Ayrshire's Trading Standards Consumer & Business Advice Centre
is situated in River Terrace close to Ayr town centre. Find Us
- From Ayr High Street - cross the Auld Brig' which runs behind
Marks & Spencer. The lane which leads to the bridge can be found adjacent
to the 'Millets' outdoor clothing store, near the bottom of the High Street (close
to Marks & Spencer). Once over the bridge, River Terrace can be found on the
right. Our office is approximately 50 metres along on the left hand side.
From Glasgow Leave Glasgow
on the M77/A77 for Kilmarnock and Ayr. Remaining on the dual carriageway past
Kimarnock you will eventually arrive at the Monkton Roundabout - ('BP petrol station'
and 'Monkton Lodge' situated on far side). Remain in the left hand filter lane
and continue left on the A77. At the next roundabout (the Whitletts roundabout),
take the third exit (A719) leading to North Ayr. Go straight through
the traffic lights (past the 'Redstone Inn'). Continue on this road straight through
two sets of traffic lights (passing a McDonalds Restaurant and Ayr Racecourse
on the left hand side). Eventually you will come to a roundabout. At this roundabout
take the first exit (left) and immediately go into the right hand lane. Continue
for approximately 100m and take the first right turn across the dual carriageway
into Strathayr Place. Take the first right into the Trading Standards car park.
From the South - Dumfries via Cumnock From Dumfries take
the A76 following the signs for Thornhill/Sanquhar/Ayr/Kilmarnock. Remain on the
A76 following the signs for Cumnock and Ayr, going through Thornhill, Sanquhar,
Kirkconnel and New Cumnock. You will then come to a roundabout at Cumnock. Take
the second exit marked Ayr/Kilmarnock (this will bypass Cumnock). At the next
roundabout take the first exit (left) marked A70 for Ayr. You will pass through
Ochiltree and then Coylton. Remain on the A70 until you come to a roundabout.
Go straight through this roundabout (2nd exit). You are now entering Ayr along
Holmston Road. Continue along this road until you come to two small roundabouts,
at the first roundabout turn right into Station Rd. Continue along this road to
the next roundabout. Take the first exit (left) by the Fire Station into John
St.(dual carriageway). Take the second turn on the left into Strathayr Place.
Take the first right into the Trading Standards car park. Travelling
by Train There is a regular Train service from Glasgow to Ayr approximately
every 20 mins. From Ayr Station it is advisable to travel by taxi (the taxi rank
is at the front of the station). If you do wish to travel on foot, leave by the
front of the station and cross Burns Statue Sq. (Odeon Cinema should be across
the road on the left). Follow the street as it swings round right (into Alloway
St) and continue onto the High St. After approximately 5-10 mins. walk you should
find the Marks & Spencer store on your right. You should then cross the Auld
Brig' which runs behind Marks & Spencer. The lane which leads to the bridge
can be found adjacent to the 'Millets' outdoor clothing store (just to the left
of Marks & Spencer). Once over the bridge, River Terrace can be found on the

Travelling by Bus Buses from Glasgow to Ayr run approximately
3 times an hour. On arriving at Ayr bus station leave by the Sandgate exit. Turn
right and walk down that street (called 'The Sandgate') until you reach the traffic
lights. Turn right onto the High St. (past Woolworths towards Marks & Spencer.)
You should then cross the Auld Brig' which runs behind Marks & Spencer. The
lane which leads to the bridge can be found adjacent to the 'Millets' outdoor
clothing store (just to the left of Marks & Spencer). Once over the bridge,
River Terrace can be found on the right. Our office is approximately 50 metres
