Trading Standards keeps apace with the complexity of modern products and the latest safety standards to ensure that any unsafe products are immediately identified and appropriate action taken. By acting on complaints from consumers and information from other Trading Standards Services and product safety networks, we can test products for their safety and have them removed from sale if necessary. We are linked electronically to Government Departments and the majority of UK Trading Standards Services so that information on unsafe products or potential problems can be circulated within minutes of their discovery. These links have been extended into Europe.
