Talk Maybole

Let’s Talk Maybole town centre – you are needed!

We’re launching an exciting four-day study from Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 March 2015 at the Carrick Centre in Maybole, to explore your ideas, projects and activities to help support Maybole town centre and we want you to be a part of it!

Look out for the banners or posters in town, feel free to drop in on the conversations between 4 and 7 March and let’s Talk Maybole!

You can also take part in the lead up to the event - complete the poll and tell us what you think in advance!

The ‘Talk Maybole Town Centre’ project is focused on four key areas, which we’ve identified jointly with Maybole Community Council and other local stakeholders.

These are:

  • High Street
  • The Castle and surrounding area
  • Town Hall and surrounding area
  • Greenside and rail station

The study will feature a design studio between Wednesday 4 - Saturday 7 March 2015, at the Carrick Centre, Maybole, staffed with experts and specialists, ready and waiting to listen to your ideas, test them and feed back to you there and then!

Talk Maybole – what’s on, where and when?

There are two venues in use for the study:

  • Crossraguel Room, Carrick Centre: Public Design Studio & Themed Discussions
  • Maybole Town Hall: Closing presentation

Day 1 – Wednesday 4 March 2015

  • Public Design Studio: Open to everyone from 1pm – 5:30pm
  • Public Spaces & Building specialists will be available for 1-2-1 discussions
  • Public Realm Workshop: 3pm
  • Public launch (including Maybole’s schools) and public workshop: 6- 7:30pm

Day 2 – Thursday 5 March 2015

  • Public Design Studio: Open to everyone from 9am – 7:30pm
  • Tourism and Street specialists will be available all day for 1-2-1 discussions in addition to Public Spaces & Buildings
  • Public Services Workshop: 11am
  • Street & Movement Workshop: 2pm
  • Business & Tourism Workshop: 6pm

Day 3 – Friday 6 March 2015

  • Public Design Studio: Open to everyone from 9am – 7:30pm
  • Tourism, Street and Economic specialists available all day for 1-2-1 discussions (in addition to Public Spaces & Buildings)

Day 4 – Saturday 7 March 2015

  • Public Design Studio: Open to everyone from 9am – 12:30pm
  • Tourism and Economic specialists available for 1-2-1 discussions (in addition to Public Spaces & Buildings)
  • Public Closing: 4:30 pm at Maybole Town Hall

The action plan which emerges from these innovative sessions will build on work we’ve already undertaken by the Community Council and local people to shape decisions we need to make for the future regeneration of Maybole is in line with local wishes.
