Sustainability Partnership

Introduction

The Sustainability Partnership was launched in September 2003 with a remit agreed by the partners as follows:

To encourage a wide range of interested parties to participate in maintaining (and where possible, enhancing) a high quality environment in South Ayrshire based on the principles of the achievement of economic and social improvement without compromising future generations' expectations of:

  • Access to resources
  • Protection of the environment
  • Health and welfare

The Partnership sits within the South Ayrshire Community Planning Structure, and meets on a regular basis to share best practice on climate change and other environmental issues outlined in the Community Plan and Single Outcome Agreement
