South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership
Single Outcome Agreement 2009 - 2012
In 2008 South Ayrshire Council developed its first Single Outcome Agreement with
the Scottish Government. It highlighted the Council’s priorities in relation
to the provision of quality services.
A new
Single Outcome Agreement for 2009 - 2012 has now been developed with all
our Community Planning partners and is regarded as a symbol of the new relationship
with the Scottish Government as a result of the Concordat. The Agreement is
a catalyst for greater transparency in our joint commitment to delivering better
outcomes to the people of South Ayrshire and illustrates how partners will work
towards objectives that cut across organisations. It was officially signed off on
29th July 2009 by Cabinet Secretary John Swinney for the Scottish Government and
Cllr Hugh Hunter, Chair of the Community Planning Partnership.
The document includes a set of aspirational local outcomes, strategic objectives
and targets for a range of public services, delivered by all partner organisations,
in relation to employment, learning, health and care, community safety, economic
development, transport and the environment.
It is tailored to address the particular challenges of the local area and sets out
how community planning partners will work together to deliver services to meet these
identified needs. It is intended to lead to significant benefits for users
of local services.
The Community Planning Partnership Board will have responsibility for overseeing
the delivery of the Single Outcome Agreement. An annual report will be produced
and submitted to the Scottish Government each year highlighting the progress made
in the previous financial year (April – March) towards achieving the outcomes
and targets. This information will be made available by way of the Council’s
public performance reporting mechanisms, usually in November of each year.
