Education, Culture and Lifelong Learning (ECLL) is committed to achieving the Council’s vision of an education system in South Ayrshire that is of the highest quality. Our ambition is to maintain and develop services which place individuals at the centre of their own growth and learning, giving them access to positive learning environments and in the case of pupils, a curriculum that provides them with opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills, ambition, confidence and self esteem.
The Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc Act 2000 places a duty on local authorities to secure improvement in the quality of education provided. This report celebrates many of the achievements made during a very significant year in which we identified the challenges and new ways of working necessary to achieve our ambition for all learners.
We are confident that we have made significant progress towards meeting these objectives and believe that by continuing to develop strong partnership working arrangements, we will improve the quality and effectiveness of delivery of a comprehensive range of well integrated services for children, young people and adult learners.
