Aims
Methodology
Distribution of leaflets through all partners plus meetings with agencies where their agreement to “refer” to Care & Repair was confirmed.

SA Community Health Partnership, Ayrshire & Arran NHS, Energy Efficiency, Care & Repair, Age Concern, Social Work, SAC Housing Dept, SAC Trading Standards Dept, SAC Community Safety Dept, Strathclyde Fire & Rescue and Strathclyde Police.
Evaluation Process
Analysis of “slips, trips and falls” presentation by those 65+ at A&E Ayr Hospital.
Evaluation Impact
Reductions in numbers of accidents in the residences of older people, Reductions in number of incidents involving accidents in an older persons residence.
Criticism
Distribution of safety equipment in volume terms is extremely good although breadth of referrals can be improved upon.
Potential
Given a positive evaluation and sufficient funding this project can make a significant impact on the number of falls etc. involving older people in South Ayrshire.
