Community Safety |
The South Ayrshire Community Safety Partnership is leading a multi-agency approach to providing safe, secure and healthy communities. The Partnership is focusing its efforts on three priority areas, one of which is accidents.
As part of the continual effort to improve road safety, the Partnership is promoting biannual “Driver Awareness Presentations” to its employees. On average 10 people are killed on the roads in the UK each day and it is estimated that between 3 and 4 of these crashes involve someone at work. The training is full of information that updates and refreshes drivers on their roles and responsibilities, and is open to employees of the partnership.
The training is delivered by Strathclyde Police (Traffic Education Support Team), and the Council’s Road Safety Office. It begins with an introduction for employees on their road safety responsibility whilst at work and goes on to cover:
If you have a specific question regarding any aspect of driving you would like answered at the presentation then please email it to: -
This training is aimed at all employees who drive either to or from their place of work or during their working day. The road safety risks faced by employees whilst driving is recognised by employers. It is therefore important that in aiming to reduce this risk all drivers attend this presentation.
