Community Safety Partnership
Consultation Exercise
The Community Safety Team is working in partnership with the Regeneration Team to gather information from local communities to identify concerns and problem areas, specifically in relation to community safety, antisocial behaviour and the five national priorities for regeneration, which are:
- Building Strong Safe & Attractive Communities
- Getting People Back into Work
- Improving Health
- Raising Educational Attainment
- Engaging Young People
This Consultation will be used to gain specific pieces of information and will be adapted to suit whoever is being interviewed e.g.
- Elected Members
- MSP's
- MP's
- Community Support Officers
- Community Police
- Community Schools
- Community Councils
- Tenants & residents Groups
- Sheltered Housing Complexes
- Community Safety Partners
- Housing Offices
- Church Clubs
- Forums for Older People
Key questions will be asked to identify what people would like to see happening in their neighbourhood and the issues raised e.g.
- Feelings of safety in neighbourhoods
- Predominant reasons for feeling less safe
- Noisy Neighbours/Neighbourhood disputes
- Other issues in relation to antisocial behaviour
- Vandalism and graffiti
- Problems in relation to Drugs & Alcohol, Violence and Accidents
- Adopting the mapping exercise (ref. Problem Solving Training)
- Local facilities/groups for young people
The results of the consultation will be available by the end of 2006.
