Evaluation Impact
All licensed premises were visited by Trading Standards and Police in the weeks before Bonfire Night, to remind them of their rights and responsibilities . A week later licensed premises were tested by Trading Standards in a test purchasing operation. During this operation no licensed premise sold fireworks to an underage person.
All identified sites for bonfires were distributed to CSOs and the police prior to the campaign. During the campaign numerous sites were identified to Waste Management as having a bonfire on site.
Police statistics show a considerable decrease in firework incidents, rubbish fire incidents and general disturbance incidents during the period of the campaign.
Criticism
A better media campaign before to highlight to work being done and also where to report the ASB.
Potential
The initiative proved to be very successful and it will be continued next year .
