Antisocial Behaviour Implementation Group

The Antisocial Behaviour Implementation group has been set up as a sub-group of the Community Safety Partnership to oversee the implementation and developmen of the Antisocial Behaviour Strategy and Outcome Agreement. This group replaces the ASB Strategy Group and all strategic decisions will be taken at the Community Safety Partnership level.

The following sub-groups of the Implementation Group have been established to reflect the main aims of the ASB strategy as outlined in the Outcome Agreement:-

• Prevention/Early Intervention
• Public Reassurance
• Rehabilitation

Prevention/Early Intervention group incorporates the Local Action Fund which is a continuation of a strand of Youth Justice funding from the Scottish Executive and which is routed through the Community Safety Partnership to provide diversionary activities for young people. This group will focus on developing projects through the use of the problem-solving process to enable diversionary and preventative work to be targeted to those areas identified as hotspots in South Ayrshire.

Public Reassurance Group provides the forum to discuss all aspects relating to enforcement of the Antisocial Behaviour Legislation in line with the Outcome Agreement. This group has a focus on monitoring the use of the legislation by Police and South Ayrshire Council and in raising operational issues attached to this.

Rehabilitation group focusses on the restorative practices outlined within the Outcome Agreement, such as mediation, victim support, work with SACRO and the mentoring project, as well as the different levels of support which is provided to members of the community who are affected by antisocial behaviour.
