There is no doubt about it – when it comes to thrills, motorbikes are a bit special. There is also no doubt that the rider of a powered two wheeler is more at risk on the road than any other road user. Crashes involving bikes are on the increase and this is a trend through out Scotland.

Education / Training

South Ayrshire road safety staff will support any activities that encourage safer riding and advanced rider training. West of Scotland Road Safety Forum and Motorcycle Action Group.

Publicity

Although the numbers in South Ayrshire are relatively low publicity was carried out on a specific section of rural roads during 2008.
