Registration, Bereavement and Archives Services

Introduction

Welcome to South Ayrshire Registration, Bereavement and Archives Service. These services, though interrelated, have differing responsibilities.

South Ayrshire Council Registrars are responsible for registration of births, deaths, marriages and the provision of civil weddings and other civic services. From their offices you can also obtain a list of approved venues for ceremonies or find out how to trace your family tree.

Bereavement staff are responsible for all South Ayrshire Cemeteries and Masonhill Crematorium.

Ayrshire Archives is the joint local authority archives service for East, North and South Ayrshire Councils and is concerned with the preservation and management of records from the thirteenth century to the present day.
