Planning Services
Development Management
Development Management's role within the Council's Planning Service is to process
various planning applications made to the Council and ensure that they comply with
Council Policy. It is through this process that the Council is able to develop and
maintain a high quality, sustainable environment in which the people of South Ayrshire
live and work. You will find details about application
forms, guidance notes, and planning policy
notes to provide you with guidance relating to specific aspects of development
within South Ayrshire.
The Development Management Service includes the following:
- Provision of planning advice to members of the public
- Available for pre-application discussions with agents and applicants
- Processing of applications for example: New Developments
- House Extensions
- Commercial Developments
- Listed Buildings
- Advertisements
- Conservation Areas
- Hazardous Substances
- Monitoring the implementation of approved applications
- Investigation and enforcement of breaches in planning legislation
South Ayrshire Council has introduced some new features which will improve your
online access to planning information. You can now view, track and comment on planning
applications online and, for applications submitted since May 2009, view documents
related to an application.
Accessing Planning Applications Online gives help on using this new system.
Please be aware that there may be a few days delay from our receiving an application
or information and it being made available online.
To continue with improvements to our practices and procedures, we intend to issue decision notices
only from 1st January 2010. Copies of drawings to which the decision relates will therefore no
longer accompany a decision notice. The drawings to which these decisions relate are specified
within the decision notice and will be published via the Council’s web-site until such time as
the right of appeal has expired.
From this website you can also view archive documents for Planning Applications and Planning Decisions.
