Parks and Activities South Ayrshire

Parks Management - Strategy

South Ayrshire Council is custodian of a rich heritage of nearly 1000 hectares of publicly owned open space, ranging from urban estates and woodlands, such as Belleisle, Rozelle and Fullarton, to the small "doorstep" spaces within our residential areas. Outdoor sports grounds and golf courses, children's play areas, school grounds, and allotments all add to the network of green spaces which contribute to the character of our towns and villages.

We believe it is important to look after, protect and develop South Ayrshire's parks and open spaces. To achieve this goal, the Parks and Public Open Spaces Recreation and Landscape Strategy has been produced in partnership with other agencies. This strategy will lead and co-ordinate the management, maintenance and development of our parks and open spaces, for the enjoyment by present and future generations.
