Woodland - Strip Woodland, Ayr

Ayr more than any other town in South Ayrshire has a vast array of strip woodland. These are areas of woodland are simply narrow strips of woodland that divide one housing area from another.

In most cases the woodland can be described as semi mature to mature and various tree species. Beech, Elm, Sycamore, Scots Pine, Larch are just some of the varieties that you can find.

These areas provide much of the character of Ayr and make the town a very "green" town to visit and ensures that Ayr is not a brick and concrete desert.
