Woodland - Disused Railway Line, Ayr
The banking of the old railway line along the eastern and
southern bounderies of Ayr, have naturally regenerated over
the years, providing a wonderful wildlife habitat.
As you would expect Sycamore, Beech, Willow and Ash are
extremly common, together with Holly, Firs and Elms. A rich
understory of vegitation exists so making this area a rich
source of food and habitat for local wildlife; it is also
an important wildlife corridor linking various areas open
space.
