The woodland within these golf courses not only provides the character for the area but also acts as the food source, habitat and wildlife corridor for a range of birds, animals and insects.
The species of tree that you are likely to find ranges from the deciduous, Beech, Elm, Lime, Horse Chestnut and Larch to the coniferous Cedar, Fir and Scots Pine.
The majority of the trees are semi mature to mature however the courses have been used for the planting of young conifers as part of the Conifer Conservation Project.
