Wildlife - Dunure Shorefront

With much of Dunure beach being rocky you are more likely to see a good cross section of shellfish and invertebrates that have been trapped in rock pools. Invertebrates might include Dead Man's Fingers which are coral like colonial animals, their colour varies but usually pale pink or yellowish white; the Breadcrumb Sponge, likes rocky overhangs and shady crevices; Common Brittle Star and if you are lucky the Common Sea Urchin. Shellfish include the shore crab and acorn barnacle.
