Parks and Activities South Ayrshire

Wildlife - Ayr Golf Courses

The courses within Ayr are more likely to be described as being that of parkland, and there are a great number of different animals that call this habitat home. A large number of birds such as woodland and song birds, birds of prey and wetland birds. Mammals also come in all shapes and sizes - red and grey squirrels, foxes, rabbits and hares, mice and shrews, stoats and weasels; you may also be luck enough to spot otters and the occasional deer.

The burn and water areas also act as attractive habitat to creatures such as common frog and toad, newts and insects of various sorts.
