Primary 1 registration
Children who attain the age of 5 years between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2018 should be registered for education during the week commencing Monday 16 January 2017.
Parents/carers should register their children at their catchment denominational or non-denominational primary school during that week and should check the
day(s)/time(s) of enrolment with the school concerned. When registering your child you must bring their birth certificate and proof of your residence in the catchment area in the form of a Council Tax Notice
or Utility Bill.
It is customary for children to attend their catchment denominational or non-denominational school: however parents may make a written request to place their child in any other school under the management of the
education authority. Such a request is referred to as a placing request.
Placing requests for session beginning August 2017 should be sent to Educational Services, County Buildings, Ayr, KA7 1DR by 31 January 2017 for primary and secondary schools.
All parents/carers should be aware that if they choose to make a placing request they will no longer automatically be considered for a place at their catchment school.
