Do you know a young person that works selflessly in your community? Is there someone aged 14-25 that has inspired you? Then this is your chance to nominate them for a youth forum award.

These awards recognise the achievements of young people living in South Ayrshire who have gone out of their way to help others or have excelled in sport, entertainment or the arts.

The person you nominate could have made a real difference to their life or the lives of others through learning. Maybe a young person has given up their time and devoted all their energy to help others.

There are 14 categories to choose from such as 'Learning and Development', 'Unsung Hero', 'Helping the Community in Sport''' or 'Volunteering'. Those nominated for an award in previous years have stood out from the crowd by using their skills and talents to the benefit of others.

Councillor Margaret Toner, Lifelong Learning Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "There are lots of young people doing some amazing work across South Ayrshire and in many cases we don't get to celebrate their achievements, so this is a chance to get them the recognition they deserve. Nominations are open and now is the time to get involved and nominate a young person who has impressed you with their selfless devotion."

Anyone can nominate a young person aged between 14 and 25 years who lives in South Ayrshire. For more information on the categories and to submit your nomination go to www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/youthforum or call 01292 559390. You can also nominate at South Ayrshire Council libraries.

For more information contact Brian.Borland@south-ayrshire.gov.uk The Youth Forum Awards Roadshow will be touring all South Ayrshire secondary schools. Details of the roadshow can be found at http://young.scot/local-authorities/south-ayrshire/sayf/ Nominations close on Friday 4th November 2016

Once all nominations are in, a panel of experienced youth work staff will assess them and three finalists from each category will be invited to attend an awards ceremony where the winners will be announced!
