Armed Forces Day flag raising
Provost of South Ayrshire, Helen Moonie, the Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran, John Duncan and Reverend David Gemmell joined with members of the armed forces past and present, and cadets to mark Armed Forces Day. The day was marked with a special flag raising ceremony which took place at the County Buildings, Ayr.
Armed Forces Day is a national campaign which raises public awareness of the work the armed forces carry out both at home and abroad.
Provost Moonie said:"The flag raising ceremony recognised the sacrifices made by the armed forces on our behalf and was an opportunity to thank them for their hard work and dedication. There was fantastic support for the armed forces at the Holy Fair, and I know this support is very much appreciated.
