More than 80 individuals including local providers of social care and support services came together in South Ayrshire Council's County Buildings to celebrate the success of Self-directed Support (SDS), a new approach which gives individuals greater choice and control over the care they receive.

SDS has been operational for 12 months and delegates at the event heard about the innovative approaches being delivered in South Ayrshire.  Participants also considered the best ways to develop local care and support provision in the years ahead.

Pictured at the event are (l-r) Steven Kelly, Team Leader SDS South Ayrshire Council, Roddy Wright, Operations Director Hansel Alliance, Tim Eltringham, Director South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Liz Roy, Community Care Manager South Ayrshire Council, Kenny Leinster, Head of Community Health and Care Services South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
