The refurbishment work significantly improves facilities at Arthur Street
Work to transform a popular site in Ayr Town Centre has now been completed as part of a programme of investment from South Ayrshire Council. The public conveniences on Arthur Street have been extensively refurbished in time for the busy summer period.
The £150,000 project involved reconfiguring the internal space to allow improved access, brickwork repairs, rewiring, new floor coverings, new cubicles, sinks, baby changing facilities, and general decoration.
The work complements a similar project to breathe new life into the Council's busy seafront site at Blackburn Drive. 30p charges have been introduced at both conveniences to help manage day-to-day running costs.
