Scottish Parliamentary election results for Ayr constituency

Voters in South Ayrshire have elected John Scott to serve as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Ayr, following the Scottish Parliamentary Election on Thursday 5 May 2016.

Turnout for the constituency vote in Ayr constituency was 61.28%, with 37,730 votes cast out of an electorate of 61,567

The total votes cast were as follows:

Jennifer Dunn, Scottish National Party (SNP): 15,433

Brian McGinley, Scottish Labour Party: 5, 283

John Scott, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party: 16,183

Robbie Simpson, Scottish Liberal Democrats: 716

The number of rejected papers was 115.
