Provost Sloan presented Phyllis with a basket of flowers to mark the occasion of her 100th birthday.
Mrs Wylie celebrated her 100th birthday at a lunch in Lochgreen Hotel in Troon with friends and family.
Mrs Wylie, then Miss Phyllis Wade, is the former Ladies Amateur Golf Champion of England, winning the title in 1934. In 1936 she was a member of the only ladies golf team to represent Great Britain throughout Australia. She also represented Great Britain and Ireland in the fourth Curtis Cup match against the United States at Essex Golf Club, Massachusetts in 1938 when transatlantic crossings were made by boat and took rather longer than today.
Phyllis the oldest surviving Curtis Cup player on both sides of the Atlantic and in 2008 was a special guest at a Curtis Cup reunion at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in St Andrew's.
Phyllis came to live in Scotland in 1950 when her husband John Wylie, a Surgeon Captain in the Royal Navy retired and they moved to his family home in Dunlop. Phyllis moved to Troon in 1979 and continued to play golf into her eighties.
A former captain of Royal Troon Ladies Golf Club and honorary president of the Ayrshire Ladies Golf Union, Phyllis still a keen follower of golf.
