Health and Social Care in Scotland is changing.
From April 2015, many community-based health and social care services for adults and children across South Ayrshire are being brought together to be planned and delivered by a new organisation - the South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Demand for health and care services is growing, at a time when public funds are reducing and the Partnership will combine resources and expertise from South Ayrshire Council, NHS Ayrshire & Arran and a number of other stakeholders to deliver these services in a more efficient and co-ordinated way - and specifically where they are needed most.
Planning for health and social care will take place in six localities (made up of 23 neighbourhoods) and these comprise:
- Ayr South and Coylton
- Ayr North
- Maybole and North Carrick Villages
- Girvan and South Carrick Villages
A series of launch events are taking place near you and you're invited to come along and hear more. For more information, and to find a launch event near you, view the Locality Planning page.
Councillor Rita Miller Chair of the South Ayrshire Shadow Integration Board said: "These changes affect everyone and locality planning will be a vital part of how the Health & Social Care Partnership will prioritise and allocate its resources throughout South Ayrshire.
"To help explain the changes, we've organised a series of locality planning launch events and I'd urge everyone to come along to their nearest one, find out more and join in the local conversations – we want to hear your voice."
