Councillor Margaret Toner is pictured with local Councillors, agency representatives and members of the local community.
Lochside Community Learning Centre is the place to be to if you want to learn in a fun way, improve your chances of employment, or get involved with the local community.
Access to employment, Aspire 2 gether, Job Centre plus and South Ayrshire Council's, Community Learning and Development have combined forces to extend the opportunities for the community in Lochside.
The re-launch of the Centre was a community event, a 'Lochside Learner' spoke about their learning experience and the local drama group performed a poem specially written for the event.
Child care was available on the day to enable parents and carers to spend time learning more about the Centre, experience internet access, games, sports and take part in a raffle to win a music player. Members of the Community Association prepared a buffet lunch that was enjoyed by all.
Councillor Margaret Toner, Economic Development, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio Holder said: "The Lochside Learning Centre lies at the heart of the local community. The Centre is run in partnership with South Ayrshire Council and various agencies who are all committed to increasing the range of learning opportunities, with a focus on work related training.
"There is something on offer to suit all tastes and I encourage people living in Lochside and the surrounding areas to come along and find out what is available for them, their families, and friends."
To find out more about opportunities available at the Centre just drop in and speak to the friendly staff. Someone will be on hand to help you find the type learning or activity that is right for you.
