Information evenings planned for new Social Health and Care Partnership

 02 March 2015  |

"Your voice matters on the most significant changes ever made within health and social care in South Ayrshire!"

That's the message from Councillor Rita Miller, chair of the new South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (SAH&SCP) set up to deliver community-based health and social care services for adults and children across South Ayrshire from this April.

The changes are being driven by a national strategy to integrate health and social care in communities across Scotland – and will affect everyone in South Ayrshire.

Demand for health and care services is growing, at a time when public funds are reducing and the new Partnership combines resources and expertise from South Ayrshire Council, NHS Ayrshire & Arran and a number of other stakeholders to deliver services where they are needed most.

Councillor Miller continued: "We're consulting on our initial Strategic Plan prior to approval by the Government and a series of open information and engagement evenings are taking place to introduce the SAH&SCP and our three-year strategic plan for services through to 2018.

"It's a vital time for the delivery of community-based care services. All of us need these services at some time and if want to know more about how the changes might affect you and your family and how we're planning to deliver services after April, then I'd urge you to come along."

These evenings will be held on:

11 March  Maybole, Town Hall, 7pm-8.30pm

12 March          Ayr North, Family Centre, Wills Road, Ayr, 7pm-8.30pm

17 March           Ayr South & Coylton, Book 'n' Bun, 50 Newmarket Street, Ayr, 7pm-8.30pm
