Jim and Beth Golby, who both originate from Glasgow, and now live in Ayr have celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary.

Jim was a keen member of the scouting movement, as was Beth's brother and mother, and that is how the couple met. Jim and Beth were married in Glasgow and honeymooned in a hotel in Wellington Square in Ayr so it only seemed natural that they later came to live in Ayr. The couple have two daughters and one son.

South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie (left) presented Beth (centre left) and her husband Jim (centre right) with a basked of flowers to mark their special anniversary. Depute Lord Lieutenant George Hay also visited the couple to congratulate them and present them with a card on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen.
