Diamond Wedding Anniversary Celebrations for Samuel and Margaret Caddis
South Ayrshire Provost Winifred Sloan (left) presented Samuel (centre left) and Margaret (centre right) with a gorgeous basket of flowers.
Samuel and Margaret Caddis, who both originate from the Dalmellington area, have celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary. Samuel served in the Royal Scots Fusiliers from 1947 to 1953 during this time he was a drummer and bugler, it was while home on leave from the Army in 1949 that he met Margaret at a dance. The couple were married in Dalmellington and later moved to Prestwick where they still live. Samuel and Margaret have two sons, one daughter, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
