Derek Mackay, Minister for Local Government and Planning visited the John Pollock Centre in Ayr to meet young people involved in the Skills Towards Employment Project. The project assists young people who have face barriers to entering training and employment. During his visit at the John Pollock Centre the Minister also met Councillor Bill McIntosh, Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor John McDowall, Depute Leader of the Council , David Anderson, Chief Executive of the Council and representatives from Access to Employment Ayr Ltd who work closely with members of the STEP project, Ayr College and Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce.
