Betty and John with Depute Lieutenant Fiona Walker and Provost Winifred Sloan

Betty and John Weir from Whitletts in Ayr have recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

The sparkling couple first met at Ayr ice rink and Cupid clearly had his skates on, as the diamond duo were subsequently married at Sandgate Church in Ayr. Their special occasion was marked by a card from Her Majesty the Queen, presented by South Ayrshire Depute Lieutenant Fiona Walker and a beautiful basket of flowers presented by Provost Winifred Sloan.

John and Betty have two daughters, five grand children and three great grand children.
