Do you have a favourite book or author? Do you relax by reading biographies, crime novels, romantic fiction or historical books? Are e-books or listening to a Playaway audio book your way to relax and enjoy a good book?
If the answer to any of these is 'yes' then make a date in your diary and book a place at South Ayrshire Council's Readers' Day at Carnegie Library in Ayr on Sunday 26 September 2010.
Readers' Day offers added value to library users and readers' group members by giving them an opportunity to meet writers and other reading enthusiasts. People can spend time focusing on an enjoyable activity in the company of others who share the same pleasure as them. The day aims to inspire readers through introducing them to new authors, new titles and much more.
Councillor Margaret Toner, Economic Development, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio Holder said: "We arranged a Readers' Day last year, which was a great success and received positive feedback, so we decided to do it all over again.
"It is a really informative and fun day. People with a passion for reading can get together and listen to special guests talking about various types of writing, books and much more.
"Following on from the outstanding success of our e-books launch that achieved national acclaim and Playaway audio books we have included a talk on e-publishing.
"There really is something for everyone no matter what your reading tastes are, so I would advise people to reserve a place as soon as possible."
