191 children raised £200 for Red Nose Day 2017
Staff and children at Barassie Primary got into the spirit of Red Nose Day 2017 by digging deep for Comic Relief. The school put on a special Red Nose Day lunchtime menu, with a dress down day raising funds for charity.
Red Nose Day took place across the UK on Friday 24 March with the aim of making the world a better place, simply by having a great time. Comic Relief spends the money raised to help the people who really need it most, both here in the UK and across Africa.
The fundraising at Barassie was a huge success with more than 190 children opting to dress down and enjoy the special one-off lunch, raising £200 on the day.
Headteacher at Barassie Primary School, Linda Clarkson, said it had been a fantastic effort, "Everyone really got behind the day, with canteen staff serving up a feast of red nose delights which the children just couldn't get enough of.
"With red clothes, noses and wacky glasses as far as the eye could see, I think it's fair to say this fun way to raise funds for good causes was a huge hit at the school.
"I'd like to thank everyone involved behind the scenes in helping to make this happen and look forward to doing it all again next year!"
