Darius Campbell will be headlining the Ayr Christmas Lights Switch-On Show this Sunday (15 November) from 4-6pm in Ayr High Street.

Darius, who shot to fame on both Popstars and Pop Idol before going on to win ITV's Popstar to Opera Star, has carved a successful stage career in London's west end and is currently preparing to appear opposite Sheridan Smith in a record breaking sell-out of Barbara Streisand's Funny Girl.

Darius will top a fantastic Ayrshire line-up of talent on the High Street stage including:

Sean C Kennedy - a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Ayrshire.  His debut album, '77', has just been released to critical acclaim and Sean was recently voted Best Acoustic Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2015.  Sean's credits include co-writing with Nik Kershaw. He will appear with his full band.

Three Card Trick - a covers band who perform a huge repertoire of classic and contemporary cover tunes in their own rocky style.

The cast of Ayr Gaiety panto 'Jack and the Beanstalk' - starring Jane McCarry, the panto runs from 1 Dec 2015 to 4 Jan 2016. Jane plays Isa Drennan in the Scottish sitcom Still Game, and Granny Murray in CBeebies Me Too! The cast will do a short performance and lead an audience singalong.

Ayr Pipe Band - competing Grade 3b Band based in Ayr under the leadership of Pipe Major Gary Thomson and  Lead Drummer Robert Andrew.  They are a registered charity and are funded by donations, fund raising activities, and performances at both public and private events.

The event will be hosted by the hilarious Steve McKenna. Steve McKenna is a radio and television broadcaster whose career has taken him around the world from presenting the Oscars for BBC News in LA to Cuba's first rock gig. Although he's appeared as a host on every major TV channel you may be more familiar with his voice. He's turned up in everything from video games, to movie trailers and regularly features on kids TV. He's presented radio shows for BBC Radio's 1, 5 and the World Service together with independent stations like XFM and the recently demised Real Radio Scotland. In addition to that, he's marketed the Spice Girls, spent the day with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, had a hit record, worked as a private detective and introduced Quentin Tarantino to haggis.

The Karen Douglas Dancers will also perform at Ayr Fish Cross from 3pm-3.30pm.

Ho Ho Hope to see you there!
