Carrick Futures invests in new leisure facility

Carrick Futures has awarded South Carrick Community Leisure £250,000 over a three year period towards the creation of a new leisure and community facility in Girvan.

Mrs Dorothy Sanson recently celebrated her 100th birthday in Troon and South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie paid her a special visit to mark the occasion. Provost Moonie presented Mrs Sanson with a basket of flowers and a commemorative card, before she was joined by family and friends to celebrate the day.

 A group of 40 S6 pupils in South Ayrshire Council schools have been awarded the prestigious Platinum Youth Achievement Awards from Youth Scotland.

A group of 40 S6 pupils in South Ayrshire Council schools have been awarded the prestigious Platinum Youth Achievement Awards from Youth Scotland. They completed this through an Alcohol Awareness Peer Education programme, which involved them delivering a four-week education programme on the harmful effects of alcohol to S1 pupils.
