New Office Opening Hours - Revenues And Benefits Service

The opening hours of South Ayrshire Council’s Revenues and Benefits Service offices will be changing.  With effect from Wednesday, 3 October 2007, the offices that deal with Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates, Sundry Income and all Council Tax and Housing Benefit will be closed to the Public every Wednesday.

Closing the offices to the Public each Wednesday will allow the Revenues and Benefits staff to resolve enquires earlier, which will lead to a more focussed and responsive service to South Ayrshire residents.

The number of properties within South Ayrshire is constantly increasing due to new building developments and this, in turn, is increasing the amount of properties on the Council Tax database which need to be administered in conjunction with associated discounts, relief and Benefit.

Members of the Council’s Leadership Panel have given their approval to change and the new office opening hours are now as follows:

  • Monday 8.45 am to 4.45 pm
  • Tuesday 8.45 am to 4.45 pm
  • Wednesday Closed
  • Thursday 8.45 am to 4.45 pm
  • Friday 8.45 am to 4 pm
  • Personal and telephone enquires can be made during the opening hours noted above.  Written and email enquires can be made at any time to the addresses contained on billing or benefit documentation.

Cash collection opening hours will remain unchanged.
