South Ayrshire Council's Morrison Gardens Sheltered Housing Unit in Ayr transformed into a little part of Mexico, when tenants held a Mexican Fiesta.
Councillor Margaret Toner, Depute Leader of the Council and Portfolio Carrier for Community Services took part in the Mexican Fiesta along with other guests, she said: "It was a great afternoon, the tenants really captured the spirit of Mexico. There was lively music, competitions, snacks and refreshments that all had a Mexican theme.
"The Morrison garden residents regularly organise events and they are a fine example of the very active social lives that tenants in our sheltered housing units can enjoy."
The tenants and their invited guests took part in a number of events including:
- A paper craft event where everyone was encouraged to visit the Morrison Gardens 'Mexican hat shop' and create a sombrero.
- A Mexican 'Come Dancing' competition was held with participants all wearing their sombreros.
- Dried flower arrangements created by the tenants that reflected a Mexican cocktail theme.
- 'Mocktails' were created that all had a Mexican flavour.
- Mexican themed buffet.
