South Ayrshire Council will be improving Carnegie Library in Ayr by laying new carpets in various parts of the building. Everything possible is being done to limit disruption to library users, so the new carpets will be laid in phases. Some disruption to services is however unavoidable, so particular sections of the library will be closed on certain dates and the whole library will be closed on other dates. Here are some important dates for library users diaries: 1 February 2008 to 12 February 2008 Reference library and coffee shop closed. During these dates alternative study facilities will be available in the local history section of the library. Access to the lending area will be through the back corridor and junior library section. 14 February 2008 to 27 February 2008 Cybercentre and large print area closed. 29 February 2008 Carnegie Library closed. 1 March 2008 Carnegie Library closed. 8 March 2008 Carnegie Library closed. 10 March 2008 Carnegie Library closed. 11 March 2008 Carnegie Library closed. 2 March until 12 March 2008 A selection of non-fiction books will be moved to the large print area. Access to the non- fiction books will be through the reference library, access to the front desk will be through the back corridor and junior library area.
