Adoption of South Ayrshire Local Plan

After careful consideration of representations made to proposed modifications to the Finalised South Ayrshire Local Plan, on the 20th February 2007, South Ayrshire Council made a resolution to proceed with the adoption of the South Ayrshire Local Plan.

Following compliance with the procedural requirements of The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 and the Town and Country (Structure and Local Plans)(Scotland) Regulations 1983, the Plan became operative on 6th April 2007.

The adoption of the South Ayrshire Local Plan means that it now supersedes all previously adopted Local Plans for South Ayrshire, namely:

The Girvan Local Plan (adopted 1985)
The North Kyle Local Plan (adopted  1985)
The Ayr and Prestwick Local Plan (adopted 1989)
The East Kyle Local Plan (adopted 1990)
The Maybole Local Plan (adopted 1992)
