Somerset Park, Ayr has met the stringent requirements of the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 and members of South Ayrshire Council’s Community Safety Committee have confirmed that their General Safety Certificate will remain in place.

The General Safety Certificate is considered by the Committee annually as public safety could be compromised if all conditions are not met. 

As a condition of Somerset Park retaining their General Safety Certificate an undertaking was given that a maintenance programme would be satisfactorily carried about prior 14 July 2007.

Somerset Park has an ongoing maintenance programme and will continue to carry out necessary works at Somerset Park to maintain the facility.
