SAVAS TRAINING DATES, MEETINGS & SEMINAR OPPORTUNITIES

Private Landlords

'Dealing with Deposits and Guarantors' and 'Finding a Tenant' are two of the seminar opportunities that SAVAS is offering FREE to all private landlords who hold property within South Ayrshire.

John Blackwood, who is a trained Solicitor, Director of the Scottish Landlords Association and a letting agent in Edinburgh, is running these seminars on behalf of SAVAS.

The increasing regulation on the private rented sector might be deterring some landlords from expanding their property portfolios or choosing to reduce their occupancy levels to avoid the HMO licensing regulations but the mixed message is that there is also an increase in demand by tenants. As a result, the period that properties lie empty between tenancies is reducing.

The seminar on ‘Finding a Tenant’ is intended to give landlords more detail on how to maximise rental income whilst 'Dealing with Deposits and Guarantors' looks at current issues experienced around deposits and projects ahead to the new legislation that has resulted from the Housing (Scotland) Bill 2005, which calls for the introduction of a rent deposit scheme.

The seminars are scheduled for:

Wednesday 1st February 2006, 1.00pm –4.00pm & Tuesday 28th February 2006 1.00pm – 4.00pm

Registration and a hospitality lunch will be provided from 12.00pm for both events to allow landlords to network.
