Rozelle House and the Maclaurin Galleries in Ayr are currently displaying some very exciting exhibitions that cater for a range of tastes. 

In Rozelle House there is the El Dorado exhibition, the story of Mining and Quarrying in South West Scotland with the photography commission ‘The Legacy’, by Iain Brown, of locations and people touched by mining and quarrying in the south west. The exhibition runs at Rozelle until 16 December 2006.  It is the first touring exhibition of the Future Museum South West project, further information about this project can be found by logging onto www.futuremuseum.co.uk.

Rozelle House has much to offer including a shortened series of Alexander Goudie's Tam O'Shanter paintings, bringing the poem to life and it is home to the Ayrshire Yeomanry Museum.

The Magic of Masks and Puppets, a touring exhibition by the Scottish Masks and Puppets Centre will be shown at the Maclaurin Galleries until 11 November 2006. This exhibition has appeal for the whole family and ranges from cultural puppetry throughout the world, to Punch and Judy, to the Baby from Trainspotting and Morag the Cow. 

Also on display at the Maclaurin Galleries are photographs taken by young people from South Ayrshire who recently sailed around the Western Isles as part of a John Muir Trust project.  The participants also used their experiences to inspire and create artworks about their adventure and these are also on display.

A number of arts related projects by South Ayrshire Youth Forum that involved young people from all over South Ayrshire, including: Maybole Youth Action Graffiti Art Project; Wallacetown and Newton "All Talk" project; the South Ayrshire Youth Forum projects "Lights Camera Action", "Sleepover Suicide", "Breakdown" and "Tam O'Shanter".  These projects explore fashion, graffiti art, dance, photography, stage performance and film making and are on display.

The photographs show a sample of the diverse artwork that is on display.
