ALL CHANGE AT PORT RANALD DRIVE AND TEMPLEHILL IN TROON

New traffic regulations, which prohibit loading or waiting at any time, are being introduced in Port Ranald Drive, Templehill and the link road.

Port Ranald Drive is designated as a local distributor road serving the ferry terminal in Troon and it is important that traffic flow is maintained at all times.

South Ayrshire Council is introducing the waiting restrictions to ensure the unrestricted passage of vehicles entering or leaving the ferry terminal and the port area. This will benefit both tourists and commercial companies using the terminal, whilst keeping traffic moving for local residents.

The traffic flow will be further helped as P&O Irish Sea has recently allocated an area within their ownership where cars and coaches can be parked, with a drop-off point being established at the front of their terminal building.

The funding for the necessary signing and markings will come from the Council’s
existing Traffic Signing and Road Marking revenue budgets.

Full statutory and public consultation has been carried out and representatives from the Council and Strathclyde Police Traffic Management have visited the area and established that the changes can be satisfactorily implemented.
