Examining Future Education Needs - Update
|
South Ayrshire Council has agreed to take the fundamental review of its school estate to the next stage. Proposals for each of the geographical areas are contained in the following report and the Council has invited comments on the proposals by the end of December 2007. The next stage will see a more focussed approach being taken with the result that the exercise is being split into 2 categories. The first category contains a list of areas of the current provision where the Council feels options need to be explored in more detail with affected communities and key stakeholders. The second category is a list of schools which the Council feels there is little need for change of provision. The Council is committed to consultation and debate on this matter and therefore no specific proposals are being considered at this time. Over the coming months Officers will be arranging local meetings once again to explore options for those areas listed in the first category. If you would like to make comment on the proposals please feel free to write to the Director of Education, Culture and Lifelong Learning at County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr KA7 1Dr or e-mail your comments to fundamentalreview@south-ayrshire.gov.uk. Thank you for your continued contribution and assistance with this important exercise.
The Council would like to thank everyone who has participated in the exercise to date and took the opportunity to respond. This web site will continue to be updated as the review progresses further. Review Information The following documents have been produced to date:
