PROVOST CELEBRATES WITH SOUTH AYRSHIRE CHILDREN'S PANEL
Ron Gillespie, Chairman of the South Ayrshire Children’s Panel invited South Ayrshire Council Provost Winifred Sloan to join him and other Panel members to celebrate the achievements of some Panel members at their annual cheese and wine evening. Speaking about the evening Provost Sloan said: “Members of the South Ayrshire Children’s Panel play a very important role in communities, giving up their leisure time to help young people and their families at difficult times when they need extra support. “There were new members present who received certificates and others who received long service awards and I would like to congratulate all of them. Panel members carry out important work quietly, conscientiously often without any recognition but give so much to the people of South Ayrshire.” Gordon Watt, Head of the Children’s Hearing Branch for the Scottish Government presented Isobel Bone with a long service award to mark the 25 years that she has been a Panel member and Tutor. Due to the remarkable number of years of dedicated service that Isobel has given Provost Sloan presented her with a floral arrangement to mark the occasion. Ann McMillan, Children’s Panel Advisory Committee presented a long service award and flowers to Jessie Nelson who has served a total of 15 years on the Children’s Panel and the Children’s Panel Advisory Committee. Ann also presented certificates to trainee Panel members to mark the successful completion of their pre-service training.
