ARE YOU A JUNIOR GOLFER WITHOUT A HANDICAP?
On Monday 31 July 2006 the first ever South Ayrshire Junior Golf Pre-handicap Open will be held at South Ayrshire Council’s Troon Fullarton golf course. The competition is open to all boys and girls who are 8 years and over and under the age of 18 who have not yet achieved an official golf handicap. The Pre-handicap Open is intended to be an introduction to ‘open’ golf competitions for children who are at the early stages of learning to play golf. The competition will be played from specially placed forward junior tees that have been installed on the Troon Fullarton course. Boys and girls will play from the same tees. The emphasis of the competition is participation and every competitor will receive a ‘goody bag’ with a trophy being presented to the person with the lowest score in each age category. A marquee will be situated behind the eighteenth green where a range of junior golf equipment will be available to purchase. Officers from Strathclyde Police will be at the competition to place security marking on golf equipment. Anyone who would like to enter the competition should log on to the Council’s website at www.golfsouthayrshire.com or contact staff on 01292 616255 for further details. July 2006 |
